Maté Time

Maté time with Mi Abuelita. She doesn't know that my Macbook pro is taking 4 pictures quickly in this moment. She does, however, know how to prepare the perfect Maté time: hot water that doesn't burn the tongue, a little sugar (she likes it refined; I like it raw), a loving portion of yerba (usually Cruz de Malta- with stems) in the gourd, a perfect pour (don't overflow- can get messy), (don't stir the bombilla either- can clog it up), similar talk to 'coffee talk' except not with a New York accent but with a thick Argentine Spanish accent, and complete with tasty pastries or cookies usually. http://bit.ly/JZkTmU - health benefits of drinking yerba maté
